The GT-051 has a very nice streamline bullet cabinet design and was manufactured by the Farnsworth Television and Radio Corporation that was founded by Philo Farnsworth, the man who is also known as the Father of Television. The company usually sold radios and televisions under the Capehart brand. The GT-051 used the aging 1940s AA5 superheterodyne design with octal tubes. The Farnsworth company was sold to International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT) in 1949, which most likely ended production of this model. The cabinet has been reused by Northern Electric in Canada for their "Midge" line of radios.
