The cabin was stripped in about 4 hours by hand with an angle grinder and a wire wheel. Afterwards, the sheet metal was sanded with 100 grit sandpaper and degreased prior to applying primer.
Following the same process as with the front fenders, PPG epoxy primer was applied to the bare metal body and parts first. Light bondo was applied to smooth out small dents and waves. Evercoat high build polyester primer followed by 100, 220 then 320 grit block sanding was done for a smooth finish. A light coat of guide coat spray paint was used to help identify low spots and imperfections.
Rear fenders and doors were mounted to check fit and for easier transport to the paint shop. Getting closer to looking like a complete car again!
Last view of the car before it goes off to the paint shop in March 2023!
