I had to hunt down the stainless trim and clips among the parts stash as they were not on the car originally, and figure out how they were mounted by studying photos. There was also a coach line pinstripe trim on the Coupe models that this car did have and I was fortunately able to trace a pattern on paper before stripping or covering with primer. The coachline was about 1/4" thick, although I've seen in pictures of other examples and in Rover's own catalog that the coachline was slightly thinner, maybe 3/16" thick. I chose to use a 1/4" vinyl silver pinstripe tape since the two-tone color combination for Bordeaux red would have had a Silver Birch colored roof.

I obtained a set of 4 new reproduction bumper overriders from the UK to replace the earlier P5 style overriders that were on the bumpers. The bumpers were from the 1966 Mark III and in very good condition. One thing I learned is that the overrider mounts changed from the P5 to P5B; the P5 had a single large bolt affixing the center of the overrider to the bumper, the P5B uses two smaller bolts off the center. I think the bumpers themselves had different drill holes to accomodate this, but to avoid drilling into the older style bumpers I already had on hand, I fabricated an adapter using a carriage bolt welded to a thick perforated steel strap cut to size to 3 holes with the carriage bolt welded in the center hole. I did not take any photos of the adapter, but just a heads up that the P5 and P5B bumper overrider mounting are different.
