Hotpoint P65ME
1955
Bands: AM
Tube Lineup: 6BE6, 6BA6, 6AV6, 6AQ5, 6X4
This Hotpoint P65ME was made by General Electric Company Australia, Ltd in Sydney, Australia and is a rebadged AWA Radiola 565MA. The radio uses 1950s miniature tubes and has a heavy transformer for 200-260V operation. Housed in a light brown plastic cabinet that encloses the radio electronics from front to back, this model was also available in burgundy, ivory, and gray. The large slide rule dial on this radio is reminiscent of late 1930s American GE and RCA tombstone radios, and is very different in appearance from most post-WWII American radio design styles.
