The Airline 62-501 is an economy set enclosed in an unusual machine-age cabinet style without a dial face. The front right half of the radio are just 6 preset station pushbuttons for your favorite frequented stations and if you wanted to tune into other stations, the only indication of the tuned frequency is on the side knob. The electronics consist of a 4-tube superheterodyne without an IF amplifier stage. This radio was originally priced at $8.95 and cheaper than other models with dial faces. The radio was also available in an ivory colored cabinet as the model 62-502.
