Emerson 17 "Miracle Six"

This attractive 4-tube Emerson was marketed as a "Miracle Six" because of its six-tube sound. The model 17 is encased in a black bakelite cabinet trimmed with chrome accents and today is harder to find compared to the model 19 that uses the same cabinet in brown bakelite without any accents. The model 17 was originally priced at $25 while the model 19 was priced at $19.95. The appearance of the vertical lines is reminiscent of skyscrapers from the thirties.
