Arvin 628CS "Phantom Bachelor"

This unique and seldom seen 1938 Arvin 628CS chairside radio was manufactured by Noblitt-Sparks Industries in Indiana. The 628CS was originally priced at $69.95 and offered as part of a lineup of chairside radios including the 528CS "Phantom Master" and 638CS "Phantom Grad" models, all of which were only available for the 1938 year. The 628CS was featured on the top cover of the 1938 Arvin catalog shown below courtesy of Preserving Arvin.

I came across my example in an antique store while vacationing in rural Maine in the summer of 2022. I decided it was too unique to leave behind so I managed to bring it back home with me in Texas.
