This nice Detrola 283 was an ebay win and nicely complemented the brown bakelite 1938 model 208 that I had in my collection. The model 208 was a more dated TRF receiver design and the 283 was an upgraded superheterodyne design. I have seen several Detrola models and other brands that use the same cabinet mold and sometimes with different knob locations. The model 283 was also offered in brown Bakelite and Beetle cabinet colors.
